The award was presented on October 26, 2007 at Cavtat during the closing ceremony of “The Days of Croatian Tourism”.
As well as being a friendly and very kind receptionist known for her top-professionalism she is also a devoted mother of three beautiful daughters and wife of well renowned Croatian water-polo player and coach, Veselin Đuho. This award was truly given to the right person, especially because World Tourism Organization (WTO) dedicated this year to the women in tourism.
“I couldn’t do anything else – this is my true vocation” – said Romana Đuho, who has worked her whole life in tourism.
Romana, being highly professional, speaks fluently four languages: English, Italian, French and Spanish. She is guests’ favorite because of her warmth and friendliness; that is why she made a lot of friendships throughout the world, many of them still last today. Romana is also favored among her colleagues because of her positive spirit and dedication.
She was born in Dubrovnik on September 9, 1965 where she graduated from Tourism and Hospitality High-School. Right after the graduation she started working at the “Kompas” tourist agency hospitality desk. After that in 1985 she worked as a flight attendant for “Pan-Am”. She also worked at “Atlas” travel agency and the “JAT” airline company. At the end she found her true passion working as a receptionist in our Maestral Hotels (since 1988).
